Nancy Garfield MPA, MSW, LCSW
Background:
Nancy is a licensed clinical social worker with broad experience in the management of a wide variety of areas including, but certainly not limited to, mood disorders, attention difficulties, relationships, parenting, eating disorders, chemical dependency and severe, persistent mental illness.
Her practice consists primarily of individual work with adolescents, young adults and adult men and women with locations in Atlanta, Roswell and Marietta. Approximately 25%-35% of her practice is working with adolescents and young adults, many with a history of treatment resistance. A large percentage of her clientele are referred by current or former clients, for which she is extremely honored.
For those open to the tremendous healing power of group therapy, Nancy offers “Psychletherapy”. Psychletherapy combines the power of exercise with the benefits of group work to offer the ultimate change mechanism. Currently there are on-going Psychletherapy groups for adults, young adults and persons with Schizophrenia.
In addition to psychotherapy, Ms. Garfield administers testing for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), using the Integrated Visual and Auditory Continuous Performance Test. She primarily screens adolescents and adults although will provide screening for ages as young as seven in select cases.
It is Nancy’s dual Master’s degrees in social work and public administration, coupled with previous experience as an industry consultant, which enable her to bring an innovative, solution-focused approach to psychotherapy. But it is her genuine warmth, energy and empathic personality that ultimately provide her clients with the greatest opportunity for healing and growth.
