Background: Shally is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC006531 Georgia) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC 211781). She is the owner of Vaid Counseling Services. She graduated from Argosy University with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgia State University. Shally completed her clinical internship at Atlanta Psychiatry and Neurology in Atlanta, Georgia. She has worked in the mental health field in various capacities for over 15 years in a variety of settings including local agencies, hospitals, and private practice. In addition to clinical work, Shally is an adjunct professor of psychology and teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses.
Bio: Shally has extensive experience providing counseling for children/adolescents and their families. She offers a range of services to help children, adolescents, and their families with challenges related to academic, emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues. She provides psychotherapy for women’s psychological and emotional needs. She particularly has a deep connection and compassion for mothers who are facing challenges of pregnancy and motherhood (maternal mental health). Shally also provides counseling services for college students as they navigate the different challenges college life brings. She offers culturally sensitive counseling with a focus on academic, personal, and professional goals.
Having traveled and lived in different countries, Shally has a passion for diversity and honors the traditions and religions from around the world. She is of South Asian heritage and can provide counseling to individuals from the Indian Subcontinent in various languages including Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
Shally understands that no client is the same which is why she believes in an integrative approach to treatment. She is trained in various modalities and strongly believes in holistic counseling with an emphasis on mind-body connection. To Western psychotherapy techniques she incorporates Eastern philosophies of meditation and yoga to help her clients begin to heal and learn to live healthier, happier, and balanced lives.
